MATERIALS & CARE

Materials & Care

Over time, I’ve found that garments made from natural fabrics and dyes respond best to gentler forms of care.

The way a material is worn, stored, washed, and lived in gradually becomes part of the garment itself. Certain fabrics soften through repetition, colours settle differently over time, and small variations begin to develop naturally through continued wear.

The garments are developed through natural fabrics and dyes chosen for their depth, texture, and ability to soften and evolve gradually over time. Slight variations in tone and surface are part of the nature of the process, allowing each piece to retain a quieter sense of individuality and character.

Much of the development process involves repeated fabric and dye testing to understand how colours settle across different materials, how fabrics respond through wear, and how garments gradually become more familiar with time.

With gentle care, the pieces are designed to be worn, repeated, and lived in over the years rather than reserved for singular moments.

Care

Hand wash separately in cold water using a mild liquid detergent and dry in shade. Avoid tumble drying and use a steam iron or low heat only when necessary.

Natural dyes may soften or shift subtly over time, particularly through repeated wear and exposure to sunlight. This gradual change is considered part of the character of the garment and the nature of working with naturally dyed materials.

To preserve the depth of colour and fabric quality over time, direct contact with alcohol-based perfumes or harsh chemicals should be avoided where possible.

The garments are intended to soften and evolve gradually through wear, becoming more familiar and personal over time.
